Is the door open/close sensor within the door jam connector in this pic?

Sensor, no. The sensor is in the door latch on the other end of the door. There is a wire going through that plug/boot from the door to the computer in the car.

Is there a way to make the sensor think the door is closed while the door is physically open? I'm adding GOBO door projection lights, they're supposed to shut off when the door is closed so I need a way to test that I wired them right to shut off by making the sensor think the door is closed without actually closing the door .

Push the door latch claw shut with your finger while the door is open. When you are done pull the inside or outside handle while you pull on the claw with your finger to release it back open. Don't accidentally swing the door shut with the claw shut, lol.

there's a wire in a harness behind the door speakers that grounds when the door is open, and disconnects when the door is closed. I used it for a courtesy light mod. Wire is gray/black on the driver door, and tan/white on the passenger door. You'd connect the ground of the projectors to this wire, and the hot to either a constant 12v source, or just the 12v source for the ABL, if you got it, that's what I tapped.

Thanks for the reply. Those were the same wires mentioned in the Gobo kit instructions. BTW I really like the color scheme of your car I live in north Jersey too and would like to see it in person. PM if you want to meet up some time.

Sounds good, and thanks! What part of jersey? I'm over in Bergen county in Norwood, would definitely be down to meet up and hang!

Just a heads up, i believe its 2 clicks for it to be closed. also be sure to pull the door handle to unlatch it before slamming the door shut when you're done.

What do you mean by 2 clicks to close?

when I did it you move the claw one click and then a second to make it think it was closed. I think I was trying to keep the chime from dinging while I was doing my footwell lights

How do you open then ...do you just pull on the outside door handle or do you have to futz around with a screwdriver in the latch ?

Pull the outside handle and use something (like a screw driver or small needle nose pliers) to pull the claw open.
