My feeling is it depends on if you are going for a different look, or trying to fool someone into thinking you have a different car..
Two different things. People put ZL1 fascias, spoilers, side skirts, SS/V6 fascias, or heritage grills because they like the look of the part. Hell, feel free to change the color of your LT/SS/RS/ZL1 emblem if you like, so that it'd match your ride. IMHO, rebadging your ride to something it's not is just blatantly lying about your car. You aren't doing it because of looks, you are doing it to either feel better about what you have, trying to fool other people into thinking you have something you don't, or both. But, at the end of the day, it's up to the person who owns the car that decides what they like or don't like.. Screw everyone else's opinion, it's a free country.
