So why not just add some vinegar to CGs Hybrib V7?

Because it probably won't work anymore. I'm not a chemist and don't know if vinegar would screw up their formula.

Why not just use the vinegar first...?

Distilled vinegar is your friend. Always try a chemical solution before going to a abrasive compound. Never remove clearcoat unless necessary.

I would bet that claybar followed by Adams Revive hand polish would take 'em right off.

I doubt revive would do anything it's a finishing polish with are barely any cut that can clear up minor hazing and marring. If clay or vinegar doesn't work, you can either work extremely hard by hand for hours, or just a couple passes with a compound that takes 10 minutes would get rid of them.

Didn't even put 2 and 2 together on the vinegar smell. My bad.

i'd never add vinegar to a bottle of V7 or any other DS. Probably best to just use it diluted like has been suggested. I've never used vinegar on a vehicle so I don't know if it would be an issue to use it all over your car.

Tried Maguiars cleaner wax today to get off my hard water marks and it didn't work. Also tried the clay bar and that didn't work either. My hard water marks are really etched in there. Guess I'm gonna have to use a compound and machine....... Damn!

They do if your spots aren't too bad and haven't been there for too long.

I've been struggling with water spots and bought this from Amazon and it works great. http://www.amazon.com/Eraser-Water-S...r+spot+remover Usually only have to apply once but on the stubborn spots another application and rub a little harder and there all gone. Spent a few hours going over the whole car. Love a black car but this will be my last black car.

I was thinking the same thing today even though I have a BRM. Just washed my car yesterday, and from the leaves falling and all the wind here, there is a thick layer of dust/dirt. A white or silver car, and I would even think twice to break out my waterless spray bottle to clean my car.

Yah gotta love the way a dark car shines though after cleaning them though.

Had my car detailed and waxed last week then woke up and saw this a few days after, but only on the stripes. Tried vinegar and water with no luck any advice? Thinking about using a Clay Bar next, but wanted to know if there was any other options out there first.

It is so hard to tell from just pictures. It looks like those are stained in addition to being covered with water spots. You can try clay, just use a LOT of lubricant and be careful!!!

You do not want to run the clay against the edges of the stripes as you can get some very-difficult-to-remove clay residue or lift an edge of the stripe.

Thanks for the advise!
I'm not sure what happened, I've had the car for two months and these stains were never visible until I had the car waxed. The stripes are very smooth to the touch. Any idea what would cause staining like this if it's not water? Isn't the wax supposed to protect against stuff like this happening? I'm just trying to make sense of all this, since this seemed to just appear out of nowhere.
