In "Hell has frozen over news," the highest rated sedan by Consumer Reports is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.

since you repeated yourself in the other thread ...

I don't care what CR has to say about cars one way or the other. Their testing procedures and rating systems are a joke and I don't trust a word they say. The Impala is a good car, but I'm not going to pay any real attention to what Consumer Reports has to say about it. Its sorta like that one person you know who is constantly bs'ing you. Every now and then, they might speak the truth, but you just ignore them out of habit.

They even said it handled better than a Lexus ES. Never in a thousand years would you have thought CR would say the sort.
Was already planning on taking my wife to check out the Impala. (after reading Fen's reviews) She drives an ES now, but never really cared for it. She really liked my uncle's XTS, I told her the Chevy's the same, just $20k less.

Saw a silver Sting Ray with black rally stripes headed north on 75 today. Around the Tylersville exit.

My 2002 Silverado is DOA today the frame is rusted through. I was wondering if there is any update on the 2014 standard cab production?
I may end up buying a Cruse now and trading in the Impala in the spring and ordering a Silverado then. I'm pissed off that the body is rust free and the frame is rusted out. No love for all the salt they use around here where we average around 100" of snow a year. I must admit I have never owned a truck for this long that has been driven all year long, still I'm not a happy camper.

Passed a vehicle I am sure was GM on I 79 yesterday headed north that was camouflaged pulling a gooseneck trailer loaded with cement weights. Was a dually so I imagine it could of been the new Sierra 3500 from what I could get a quick glimpse of.

Chevrolet Trailblazer May Come to U.S. in 2014
Edmunds.com
By Rick Kranz
August 5, 2013

Just the Facts:
  • Chevrolet could expand its SUV lineup in the U.S. next year with the addition of a midsize model based on the Thai-built Trailblazer.
  • An industry source familiar with Chevrolet's product plans said a version of the Trailblazer SUV is expected go on sale in the U.S. in 2014.
  • Chevrolet officially says it has no plans to add another SUV/crossover to the portfolio.

DETROIT — General Motors' Chevrolet division could expand its SUV lineup in the U.S. next year with the addition of a midsize pickup truck-based model derived from the Thai-built Trailblazer.

The Trailblazer shares its global body-on-frame architecture with the midsize Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. The Colorado, which was designed by General Motors do Brasil and jointly engineered with Japan's Isuzu, is slated to be built in the U.S. and introduced early next year as a 2015 model, along with a companion GMC Canyon.

"We have no plans to add another SUV/crossover to the portfolio," Chevrolet spokesman Mike Albano told Edmunds in an e-mail. "We are pleased with the way Equinox, Traverse and Tahoe/Suburban are performing in the marketplace."

But an industry source familiar with Chevrolet's product plans said a version of the Trailblazer SUV is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in 2014. It is not clear if the vehicle would be built in the U.S. or if it would retain the Trailblazer name.

Not to keen on that trailblazer, I wouldn't mind seeing a version of that little Buick Encore SUV they just came out with.
