Nothing concrete (hence why I said rumors). But the idea is a global full size FWD sedan, aka our Impala, becomes Australia's new Commodore. Then we build a new SS sedan and ship it over to Australia.

Well, if GM builds and sells a gen II SS sedan (hopefully with a real damn name) in North America. It will be my next car once my Camaro's paid off.

It makes sense, honestly. It's having your cake and eating it too.

Then again, as we all know, GM doesn't like making sense sometimes.

True enough. I'd not be the least surprised that if this rumor pans out, it'll be an export program only.

I'd guess either ATS-V or CTS-V.

There is a lot of bang for your short read in this MT article.

- TTV6 425HP for ATS-V (which we already knew...I'm hoping it will be a bit more)
- ATS-V+ with a V8.....what!!????? MT hoping it could be the new supercharged LT4 from the Z06....to that I say an even bigger ....WHATT!!??
- CTS-V getting a TT V8...which will also go in the ZR1....WHATT!!???
-Dual clutch Transmission

http://wot.motortrend.com/1401_cadil..._turbo_v6.html

Well folks...we may get to see a V8 stuffed in the Alpha short wheel base version after all.

Wow.

Makes me wonder how much of this is actually even real? If they are indeed going to do an ATS-V, and a V+...why not just call them VSport and V instead? Maybe thats the plan?

MotorTrend's track record when it comes to future product isn't too hot.

We've already seen info that contradicts this:

a) Reported that the LT4 is already earmarked for CTS-V.
b) Reported that there will be no C7 ZR1.

Further, does it make any sense that an ATS Vsport and an ATS-V would share engines with their CTS Vsport and CTS-V counterparts?

Personally though, I'd like to see either a) a smaller displacement TT V6 used in an ATS Vsport, or b) a de-tuned TT3.6 for ATS Vsport and a production version of the TT 4.5 V8 that showed up in the Elmiraj concept for ATS-V. Of course, I have no idea if another turbo V6 is being developed or if (what I assume to be) a DOHC V8 would fit in Alpha.

Nothing besides what we heard forever ago. It's under consideration but there needs to be a sister Chevrolet product for volume.

Oh well, I guess if we don't hear anything in NY then it isn't going to happen for a while, if ever.
