Anyone know how to operate a Ipod/Android while wearing racing gloves?

I bought this GPS unit and will be running Silverstate in Sept. I am having my boy be my navigator as i really want to win this thing. This GPS will work thru my Ipod and his Android. We both have to wear racing gloves and since these smart phones work when skin touches them does anyone know how we can get them to work while wearing gloves?

Capacitive stylus is probably your best bet.

Good luck with that. I generally start everything in pre grid before I pull on my gloves.

Does this app support voice commands? Might be a bit loud in the car at speed though... Or perhaps cutting a small hole in your glove on your right index finger.

The hole for index finger is your only option due to the noise.

They make conductive thread where you can sew little X's or similar in the fingertips with it to work with touch screens.

They sell gloves with a specific material on the fingertips for that very reason.

Or get a co-pilot

Go with the stylus. Probably best bet considering the other options seem to mess up the glove or require altering it. Or just start it before you get under way unless you need to make changes to it while at speed.

Why not keep the gloves you have, and add some conductive thread to your fingertips?

This will allow you to operate the phone/device and still keep your gloves....I did this with my motorcycle gloves, and it worked like a charm. Just be careful where you buy your thread - alot of places sell thread that is marked as 'conductive' but it's really not. HERE is where I got mine, and it works great. Just thread a little patch into your fingertip, and you're good to go!!

On my samsung and probably whatever android you are using, it has a setting in the display section to increase touch sensitivity. I don't recommend leaving it on when not wearing gloves because it will also make the screen detect touches through thinner pants while in your pocket and may accidentally cause you to hangup on people that are calling you.
