Op go test drive a 2014 2SS 1LE non RS with the recaro seats. Its drop dead gorgeous. Its an amazing trim package for the money. I would wait another year to save for it if i had to.

1. Leather Seats: heated seats are amazing. Also, if you don't want to stick to the seats, buy a snazzy seat cover.
2. HUD: You can see through it! I rarely look down because my speed, RPM, and music information is on the windshield. This makes it safer.
3. Gauge Cluster: Who stares at their cluster when they drive? Also, the way I take corners, everything not bolted down in the car goes in the center console. Otherwise, it would end up across the car, or out the window.

So, the 2SS is pretty nice, and I'm glad I spent the extra money. If you drive a 'maro, you've already won, so it doesn't matter if you drive an LS or ZL1.

Love cloth seats, always have. They never feel too hot or too cold to me. Had an Uncle who had a car with leather seats many years ago. Not only burned my darn legs on it (sitting on it in shorts), but the seats were all cracked. Course, he abused his cars (never conditioned the seats), so there is that.

The things from the 2SS that I liked/wanted (steering wheel radio controls, guage cluster) I used Camaro5 to add later. The other things...meh. Like the guy above said....WE DRIVE a 'maro, we've ALREADY won!

The 2SS gets you...
A better sound system
Heated outside mirrors (nice to have)
HUD (you can adjust the position of it or turn it off.)
Rear vision (backup camera nice to have in a visibility-challenged car like this)
Heated leather seats. (heated is nice and you could put a cover on the seats for summer)
COLOR driver information center (meh)

It all just depends on what YOU want, and is the price to get them worth it.

For a lazy old fart that likes warmth like me, yes.

I do wish the gauge package would have been a stand alone option. It is the one 2SS feature I wish I had.

REALLY easy...I did it in about 30 minutes. The 1ss HAS the wiring harness for it, you just have to install it and plug it in. Here is a link to the instructions:

Thanks for this, but here is the problem that I run into.....

"Fits all 2010-2012 only. Does not fit 2013 Camaros"

I believe the problem is electrical, and I know folks have overcome this, but I hope a kit is available for the 2013's at some point. Thanks again!

Sorry, didn't see that. They probably changed the harness and have a different one now in the 1SS that doesn't support the guages.

Added:

Try these:

Looks like some folks with 2013s have gotten them installed.

I've had 2 2SSes with RS because it is very hard to find a 1SS with many options around here. I prefer cloth over the pleather. The cloth looks better to me, is cooler, more grippy, and more durable. In addition, I have no malice towards cows. The only thing I would miss on the 2SS is Homelink. I would miss nothing from RS.

If I ordered:
  • 1SS
  • NPP
  • 1LE
  • BA
  • Sunroof
  • Maybe Recaros, but there goes my cloth
A some point I may swap out the pleather for cloth.

To me, the gauge package is just a worthless gimmick.

The only time you can look and read the gauges is if you are at a standstill. Now if the gauges were a lot closer to your line of sight, they might be readable when you were driving, but not where they currently are located.

Now considering all the various parameters that the car seems to be capable of monitoring on it's own via the ODBC port, wouldn't it be nice if they made room for a few customizable gauges right in the center instrument cluster that by choosing from a menu, you could display on each of those gauges, any of the parameters that were available on the ODBC connection.

Then you could pick and choose which gauges YOU want to be displayed. Even change them from day to day depending on what you're doing that day. Driving to work, drag racing, autocross, etc, etc.

I agree with everything but the NPP. Including the pleather comments.
