Is my rim Polished or Painted Aluminum?

Hi there. New to this forum and first time owning my own car, don't know much about cars yet. (Still learning)

I have searched around the forums and on Google and I couldn't find the exact answer I needed.

My question is, what type of rim do I have, Polished or Painted Aluminum? So I know which techniques to use to take care of the wheels.

I have a 2014 1LT RS.

Hopefully someone can tell just by looking at the photo.

Here's the photo:

Both are "painted" so the steps would be the same.

Xenix, you have the POLISHED wheels....and they are clear coated, thus you need to take care of them just like any other part of the car that is PAINTED.

Never knew that, I have no clear on my rims. Was that for certain years?

There are no polished GM wheels that I know about that don't have a clear coat as well.

They are all clear coated, I actually stripped the clear coat off mine, you wouldn't believe how much more shine they have with the clear coat off of them, but you have more work taking care of them, and now I am thinking about having them painted black.

One way to tell if you have clear coat or not, is take some aluminum polish put it on a rag and try to polish your wheels, if the rag doesn't turn black you have clear on the wheels, if it turns black you have bare aluminum.

My rag turns black, I never knew that others had clear on them. I am not proud to admit that I have some road rash on my rims, but there is no clear on them.
