I removed the Camaro lettering from the front fenders and really like the clean look it gives the car. That's why I'm thinking of doing the same with the hood letters.

Your z looks awesome, You should keep the zl1, Paint them or leave alone. This is a rear car. i can see removing the fender badge but not the zl1 on hood.

I just Plastidipped mine (did the same to the CAMARO lettering on each side) so I didn't have to remove them. It gives a flat black look and I've had my car a little over a year now and they've held up great through many car washes

I removed my hood emblems and replaced the fender badges with custom ZL1 emblems from emblempros.com.

No hood emblems:

Custom Badges (same ones on the fender in place of the CAMARO lettering:

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread for your input. I was ready to keep the hood emblems and paint them black until Deke736 posted the photo of his car without them. That pushed me over the edge. I gotta say I like my car without the emblems and in the end that's all that really counts.

In a couple hours, it will be off to the detailer to have the car detailed and Opti-coated. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

Poor guy comes on here for advice and you have to grill him.

I personally (like some of the previous posters) love the ZL1 hood emblems. They look classy to me. (I like mlee's black badges on his white car, too.)

Going to keep the one on the grill and the one on the trunk. The one on the trunk I'll eventually paint black. For the one on the grill, I'm going see if I can get it painted red with the inner area of the 1 black instead of red.
