I am buying one. And tho the prices haven't been announced yet, if I can hit the target range ($50-55k) and pay in cash, why would an unannounced price deter me? It's not suddenly going to be a $70k car At least damn I hope not lol.

I disagree with your analogy; the hot girl can still refuse me. Provided I have the money, no dealer is going to refuse me -- they want me to buy one. A better analogy would be if the hot girl wanted to sleep with me. Which, of course, she does

im not sure what they will cost here in canada but im thinking pretty close to the new 302 boss and up here they are going at 59,000 starting price and thats not including options.so look for the zl1 competeing with the 302boss for priceing so im thinking around 50g to 65 or more and that with no options a 2ss fully is 50g plus up here we just get raped up here wish they where american prices would probably save 7,000 or more.

Might end up waiting awhile...

Hey everybody, this might be my first post. I've lurked here everyday (not kidding) since the zl1 was announced with high hopes of being able to get one next spring. But now I may have to wait even longer thanks to my companys lax regulation of their credit cards. Which leads me to my venting story...
Long Version: I was sent on a business trip, used the corporate credit card, expecting the company to foot the bill. Only after about 2 months of the payments not being paid, do they contact me and tell me that there are steps that I have to take in order for them to make payments (probably should have paid a little more attention when they gave me all the forms to sign), leaving me in a rush to get said steps done with only a little amount of time before the account is suspended and all of the late payments get put onto MY credit report. So I rush and get all the reciepts and stuff that I can find sent in and all that jazz with about a week left before it gets suspended. 1 week later... the payment was not sent in time and I get a hit on my credit... which drops it about 100 pts... F***.

Short Version: Company credit card not paid in time and drops my credit score by 100 pts.

:End Vent

Aaaand since I would never be able to pay for the ZL1 in straight up cash unless I saved for a decade or so, I might just end up having to continue to lurk here for quite some time.
anyways... anyone have any idea how much down I would need with a crap credit score... ? (It was like 740... now down to like 640) I was going to have about 10 grand saved up but now I am sure I would need alot more.

Hope that isnt too confusing haha.

I'll be looking at the ZL1 very closely
I will not pay over MSRP. PERIOD
Many DFW dealers have lots of new Camaros on the lots these days.
I heard the ZL1 will NOT be a limited run -- that would be good news for us drivers, guys who will drive them not just store them.

Ford still using limited runs on Boss and LS Boss and dealers showing their massive greed by charging $20k over sticker on LS Boss....crazy...
People always forget the limited high model is usually (in 2yrs) the mid of the road model. I assume the 2012 Boss performance will equal the 2014 Mustang GT

I'm really looking forward to the GT500 vs ZL1 war.
I heard next GT500 will have 5.8SC to compete against ZL1

during this time, it might be a good time to pick up a 2010 Camaro which many will be throwing away (IE $20k) to rush out and buy a ZL1 @ $50k

Look at it this way, your on a enthusiast website so of course quite a few people here will buy one. Most people on here mod as well. Out in the world beyond this forum and others like it. People buy V6 models by the truckloads and mod nothing.

As for the money issue. Look at it this way. All i ever hear is the economy sucks, OMG it's all tanking, yet every restaurant , movie theatre or amusement park i go to is packed full constantly. I just got back from Vegas recently and my plane was full both ways and i don't recall seeing any empty casinos. We are heading out on a week long cruise end of July and that is sold out as well.
