Name Ways We Can Prevent Dealers & Mechanics

From taking advantage of your Camaro and wallet. We all seen what happend with that situation being recorded. Would any of you be more persistant on being hands on (while working) on your Camaro?

I feel doing your research on several dealers and mechanics then finalizing down to your choice and preference will help. Also checking up on the progress daily and taking before pictures of your interior and exterior before sending in for repair can help and proof in your claims. No one want to expierence this or wish that upon any member or owner.

So if you have any tips chime in to help the community and what you'd do in the situation getting your Camaro repaired or adding mods.

Do something similar to Angie's List and it could be nationwide...

That doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Owners can see customer reviews and expierences from the dealers would sure help on choosing the right team.

Put the service side under GM's umbrella, not the dealership. That way all service departments are under the same standards.

Also then, when something happens, GM cant hide behind the "thats betweeen you and your dealer" argument.

Put a sticker on your steering wheel that says "smile! You are on hidden camera!"

Just don't go to the dealer and instead go to the camaro5.com DIY forums.

Service departments do fall under GM guidelines....they do put the power in the service managers/advisors to solve issues. Sounds like you dealt with a dealership who didn't want to help you. Not all of us are run that way.
