WOW! A member from France!
Welcome Punk_rider. Thank you for joining. AS for your concerns about the new Camaro losing it's "luster" by the time it reaches production, not to worry my friend. I look at it this way; GM gave us "teasers" with the coupe and 'vert, and now things are "laying low", which just helps build the anticipation, IMO. The production will be just different enough to have us chewing our finger nails in anticipation, plus, there will be all the cool options to choose from, and, there should be several special "dealer versions" which will also be awesome. I also cannot wait to see the return of my favorite muscle car to dealer showrooms. Just seeing one sitting in a showroom is going to be awesome, IMO. Hang in there and don't worry. The wait will be well worth it. |

new mustang did lose it's luster
I know a mustang is not a camaro.
But for reference, when the 2005 mustang came out I always spent time staring at it on car lots, but I don't anymore. (it is a nice riding car, it just desperately needs some curves. and it shouldn't look so overweight looking). It received hype because no one was making retro looking musclecars at that very moment. The camaro concept has a lot of (classic) curves, especially on the quarter panels. Small details like this is why an old 69 camaro still looks so good. both the concept and the 1st gen camaro has that "coke bottle" shape on the sides. Hopefully the final release camaro will look curvy and not like a rectangle box from every angle. |

Regarding the Mustang...I think it all depends on the Mustang itself. I'll see a plain red stang and I don't give it a second look. Then, I see a powder blue w/ white racing stripes GT500 and oh boy...it turns my head. I like the Mustang style....especially on the "tuner" versions.

I was vaguely aware of steep gas prices in Europe, but that's ridiculous! I have to wonder how many Europeans have the commute I have though. It's nice to know that there's a Camaro following in France and beyond! |

hopefully, France isn't as large as USA and the biggest part of us live in cities and don't really need their cars on a day to day basis. anyway, my bro's ZR1 just "drinks" gas like beer ... but the fun is worth the price!! I need to gather up the money to pay for the camaro, but then, I'll be the one owning a camaro 5th gen in France. let's hope the Euro/dollar exchange rate will remain the same ... |
