Severe paint restoration of a Mitsubishi Evo

When I was contacted by the owner of this car, I knew it was gonna need some work. However when I saw the state it was in, I realized it was gonna need a lot more. After discussing options for reviving the paint on this Evo, the customer decided to only do the exterior, even though the inside needed attention and you could barely see through the windows... So I got to work...

Here's what I arrived to...

You can see the clear has completely failed on the rear brakes. I guess there is a recall for this but it hasn't been done yet.

Another factory defect here, the clear was completely shot to oblivion on the carbon fiber spoiler. Spoiler is headed to the paint shop to get redone.

P21S Wheel Gel dwelling on the severely neglected wheels

Pre washing soak with the foam gun

A couple of 50/50 shots

*time lapse*

MUCH MUCH later.... this is the result

The restored wheels with the finish now sealed for protection

Hope you enjoyed!

Great job! Saved that guy some serious $$ on a new paint job!

No idea how you did that but it looks great. The owner should be shot to ruin such a great vehicle.

Outstanding results! I'm surprised that the clear had not started peeling off the car like it did on the spoiler.

It was 205 actually. The paint was very soft, so 205 did amazing work, but it had to be further refined because it was soft and tricky to finish down with a uniform gloss.

P21S Wheel Gel, Daytona Wheel brush, and Swissvax Wheel brush

Thanks! The spoiler was the only part of the car that had clear. The rest of the car is single stage paint.

Now that makes sense. You obviously ruined some pads on that job! That looks like way more work than I would want to do. You da' man!
