Just saw some BS on a GM commercial

I was just watching the new GM commercial about the 60 day money back guarantee and noticed that at the end of the commercial, they have an RS Camaro sitting there with the Halos on AND fog lights WTF is this to be a new option now?

i've heard on here somewhere that you can wire them to work at the same time. maybe they did that for the commercial? but the foglights aren't HID so that might look weird. unless you put HID's in there.

Yeah i know you can do that, i Have a set of hid bulbs wired into my halos so they run at the same time. It did look really stupid, with the halos being white, and the fog lights yellow.

LOL! I noticed that too! Then I thought, "hmm..maybe only the LT's do that....or maybe they only come on when only the parking lights turn on". I have yet to check that out. Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed!

I think you can do this with the Canadian spec cars. DRLs are required to be on unless the headlights are on, which in this case, they weren't.

It probably has something to do with that being the concept car and not a production car.

Did you ever notice how they make crappy microwave meals look like they came right out of a gourmet restaurant? Same thing here. It was probably done for esthetics reasons. In most cases, they don't even use real food for the commercials. The director probably thought it looked more artistic. You have to make everything look better on TV if you want to sell your product. Would you expect your next TV dinner to look like a gourmet meal? Trust me, it's going to happen.

No, if I went to Chevy right now and wanted to buy the car, I would be a little pissed to know that I couldn't purchase the car the way it looked in the commercial. However, it wouldn't keep me from buying it!

I agree, but GM knows this. So I just chalk it up to good advertising for an even better product.

and canadian spec cars have no option to turn the DRLs off ever, unless the lights are on.

i can have my halos and foglight (DRLs) on at the same time. Just turn the headlight knob 1 to the right. Just can't have the fogs and HIDS on at the same time. No need to blind oncoming traffic

Module, swith &/or BCM programming must be different on Canadian cars...
