The long antenna will still exist on some V6 convertibles which will have no rear spoiler.

Did you get your answer? I did mine, it has to be cut to get it out. The only other way would be to basically destroy the factory spoiler to get it out in 1 piece, and I think the antenna system would cost a lot less than the spoiler itself. The bigger question is, where do you mount it once you have something else in place? That is where I am right now. FM signal is not bad, but I would like to try and mount it somewhere.

I ended up cutting my factory spoiler off at one end and sliding the antenna out in tact. Then I mounted the antenna behind the rear fascia.

Not happy with it as I get good FM reception but AM is no good at all.

Like to come up with another mounting location or antenna configuration now.....
