SLP Loudmouth and rev limiter question
Hubby just installed my SLP Loudmouth axle back exhaust today and it sounds great but I have a question. I hate the rev limiter. Is there a way to get rid of this? On a side note, Kenny said it was a lot easier to install than he thought it would be. And I must admit although I love it and it sounds great, it still isn't close to the sound of my Firehawk with SLP Cat back Loudmouth. I think the rev limiter makes the Camaro too quiet.

if you are talking about the one at idle you can use hp tuners and set it that way but any other tuner just raises the redline

Rev limiter?
I think you're talking about something else. The Rev limiter shouldn't have any effect on your exhaust. The rev limter is to protect your engine from over revving. |

What I mean is, it wont rev over about 4000 rpms and I don't like it. We were giving it gas to hear the full effect of the exhaust and it cut back when it reached 4000 rpms.

I have SLP loudmouth and that doesn't occur.
You have launch control on????? That's what happens when it is on. Worse case get a tuner and that will fix it. |

Is launch control on the traction control button? If so, traction control was on, like it normally is but it wasn't set to stability competitive mode.

Yes it is the same button.
Hold it down for about 7 seconds until both lights appear on your dash on your RPM gauge. Now cut it loose!!!!!! |

Auto transmissions rev from 4000-4500. Mine stays in that range all the time. Manuals can go 5000-5500.. Sometimes almost 6000. I almost took mine to 5000 today but it only went to 4700 ha.. Damn embarrassing rev limiter :(

The rpms are limited to 4000ish in the auto trans/L99 in park or neutral. They don't want anyone dropping it into gear at 6000 rpm. Doesn't matter the T/C A/H mode.
