Connectivity vs RS package
Ok I plan on getting the new camaro sometime in march or april(or whenever i can buy one off the lot). And I am really into bluetooth, usb, iphone, etc. But I also like the rims, and HID's of the RS package. I currently own a iphone 3G and wish to us the bluetooth with it and/or plug it in via USB port, I also like the steering wheel mounted radio controls. I want people to see my camaro and say "hey he got the RS package" when they first see it. But with the connectivity package people don't really notice anything. I have always wanted HID/xenon's and bluetooth/usb in my car, but the only way i can get both is if my dad's friend(chevy salesman)will drop the MSRP of the camaro a little bit lower. What package would you choose if you were a guy like me??

If you are going to drive this car daily and you talk on the phone alot, I would highly recommend the connectivity option. Certainly, having both would be great, but you won't see the RS package from inside the car. The bluetooth, USB and steering wheel controls are a must-have in my mind.

In a market like this, you should be negotiating for closer to invoice, at which point you may be able to afford both.

Well the good thing for you is that I don't think you will be able to buy one off a lot till probably at least June. That will give you some time to save your $ and get both. Sounds like you definitely have a need for the connectivity package, but I would hate for you to regret not getting the RS package. Save your money young man and get the car that you want and how you want it.

Are you getting a SS or V6? the RS is more of a must on the v6 because you get the rims(20s) and spoiler plus the other goodies, where as in the SS(already comes with 20s and spoiler), your only getting darker tailamps, hids, Red SS badging, and bodycoloured ditch roofing, but hands down, go for the RS!

Convenience & Connectivity package with manual tranny - $465.00
Convenience & Connectivity package with auto tranny - $655.00 I believe it's cheaper with the manual because it then doesn't include the auto start enabling. You didn't state which transmission you preferred, but in either case it's not too much additional to save in three to four months to get the C&C and the RS. In the end only you can decide which absence, basically HID or connectivity would disappoint you more. Sorta sounds like it might be the connectivity based what you posted.

I will be getting the Automatic transmission. I have always wanted the HID lights on my car and the rims are nice also. But I got another question. Does the car WITHOUT the C&C package some standard with Bluetooth, or do you HAVE to get the C&C package to get the Bluetooth?? I was showing a couple of my friend's yesturday, and all 5 of them have the new iphone 3G and they all said "get the C&C package!". Because I guess to them, the outside doesn't matter. I do like the rim's and then HID's, but I also like the bluetooth, usb, and steering wheel mounted radio control's.

The C&C package is standard on the 2LT and the 2SS and is only an option for the 1LT. The 1SS and LS can NOT get the C&C pacakage. And yes you have to get C&C package to get Bluetooth. |
