Is a little hard to get this DI engine LOUD without some type of negative sound frequency creeping in. From my experience, going catless with 1 3/4 long tube header and solo CBE definitely made my car sound something like a V8 jet engine hybrid LOL. It was too loud for my taste so I had to take it off and sell quickly. When you start going for loud, you are going to also get some drone and rasp. This is when you have to either use helmholtz principal which solo exhaust basically is(almost a no muffler CBE with helmholtz pipes), or use resonated x-pipe. I personally like resonated x, but it will quiet down your overall noise level, but it will definitely remove all drone and rasp. Long tube/no cats/SOLO, can't go wrong if you want LOUD without the other unwanted frequency

Home of the 31hp/33tq Ported intake/25mm Insulator!

That was some great info! Thanks a lot! But when I say chrome I don't mean "dub" style. I was just thinkin it would be cool for a retro look. I'm lookin for a five spoke Kindve carrying that theme. I just personally don't like the black on black look. What do you think? Any ideas? Thanks-

Well I haven't done anything yet. I was hopin that only removing the rear cats wouldn't make any CEL come on...

No not yet. The only thing I have done is MRT 1.0 exhaust.
I'm thinkin next Im goin to delete the resonator and then take off the back set of cats. I'm just tryin to see if I will still pass emissions in NC.

Are you guys just putting a piece of straight pipe in place of the rear cats when they're cut out?

that would make sense to me? I dont really have a clue how the whole process is done. Thats why i posted about it. Apperantly, if you remove the back two it gives a much deeper, better sound and doesnt cuase any CELs

Yes, just a straight pipe where the second cat is supposed to go. Yes it does make it louder but it also introduces a bit of rasp.

The emissions questions can probably better be answered by someone who lives in your state and is better aware of the emissions laws there.

And finally, no it won't cause a CEL. So no need to tune.

Rear cats coming off Monday morning, I cant wait!! Simply four cuts with angle grinder, two 2.5" pipes about 5" long and four weld spots to make.

you dont need a tune for it unless your doing front cats, but i was asking if you were already tuned. if so the front cat delete would be no problem. u can get it retuned to turn off light.

What do you guys do to remove the one set of resonators? Just another piece of pipe? Plannin on DT shorties and HFC's to match with my ARK-DTS but thinking the shorties with res delete would sound great enough. I live in Ohio and I'm not too sure about the emissions regulations but I know you can't just delete all 4.
