Engine cover trapping heat?
Recently pulled the engine cover off and noticed a bunch of insulation and sound deadening material underneath it...Seems like it would trap a bunch of heat...Actual motor doesn't look to shabby...Didn't look as good as my LS1 in my goat w cover removed though...

I'm no expert on these new Camaros but based on everything I've read about the LFX engine, the improvements over predecessor engines, and the outstanding performance results... if that insulation is stock, I wouldn't worry about it.

I took mine off. It's more of just an aesthetic cover.

there was a thread on here where a guy took all that crap off and it ran cooler, supposedly for noise
