Camaro gearbox, weird shifting..

Normally when i first turn it on and let it heat up for a few minutes, whether hot or cold out.. my gear box doesnt let me go into reverse or first without actual effort and trying multiple times.. itll go half way into the gear and then pop out, like it isnt fully in.. any one know why?
also, when i eventually get into first its very throttley, the response of the car is weird, it has very high torque and when i shift into second it almost like lags and stops and then goes as in it being too low of a gear.
anyone know what im talking about?
another problem im having is, my brakes squeak sometimes and the car is only 4 months old.
im in a lease, so not sure what to do yet. any of these actual problems.

The reverse thing happens to me too on a cold start. I've found shifting into 1st then back to reverse solves the problem. No idea why though. The squeaking brakes thing happened to me with my 2010 SS to the point where I thought I needed new pads, but turns out I had plenty of brake left & the mechanic told me the squeaking is "normal for sports cars." Whatever. I traded in the SS for a ZL1 & haven't heard any squeaking since.

Almost sounds like you are being to timid with the car. The brakes need a couple hard stops, to knock the glaze off. The brakes are made for hard stopping, if your too light on them, they will just squeal again. The shifter sounds like you not hitting the gates right, practice with the shifter or take it to the dealer again if it persists.

Didn't your sqeaking move from the brakes to the passenger side dash area?

That's normal for a manual transmission. Put it in neutral, let the clutch out, put the clutch in, shift into gear.

I always park it in reverse, when it's hot.

If all else fails, push the clutch to the floor. If you can't get it to the floor, you're sitting too far back.

Does anyone else put it into reverse then neutral and then if you have to put it in reverse again it sounds like it's grinding, is that normal?

Reverse is not a synchronized gear. If you release the clutch (pedal up) while in neutral, the internal gear train spins up. If you try to put the transmission into reverse before that spinning stops, it will grind.

The way to avoid this is to go into any forward gear first (all forward gears are synchronized), then go into reverse while the clutch is still engaged (pedal down). The sychros stop the spinning, so when you shift into reverse, the geartrain is stationary.

This. I've long been in the habit of always shifting into first before going into reverse.
