I've seen it run 4 times. 8.7, 8.8 and 8.9. The fourth run was aborted. I don't remember mph.

All 5th gens can run in 5th Gen class. I won't last long today I'm sure but I will have a blast getting beat! I will be thrilled if I even make it through one round. After I'm eliminated, I'll get some videos of the others.

It was nice getting to chat with you in person. See ya again today & good luck.

Farks car aborted its first pass but they are in real steer. That where DE should be. That car would be very competitive.
I do believe before she built that monster she had a goal for the car, and that was to have the fastest 5th gen street car. To build a 7 or 8 sec. street car is not that easy, it takes a lot of fabrication, time , money and the right people working on the car to achieve that. So for her to run a street legal car with the 5th gen cars is acceptable in my book. I'm sure after all her goals are met with this beast, she will have something new in store for it.
Hopefully she will post a picture of the pile of broken parts the the car has eaten to get it to where it is at now.

Thanks for the education on how to build a car to drag/street.

I never said it was unacceptable for her to run in the gen v class. After all, that's what the car is. I thought she wanted to run heads up not bracket race.

Didn't mean to come off like you didn't know how to build a race car, it's obvious you do. I was just trying to let you know why she is running with the 5th gens, that's all.

It's all good. It's difficult to read the tone when things are just written.

I'm guessing they just want the extra track time to help dial it in for the heads ups racing.

I'm sure once she's home and settled in we'll get all of the updates and questions answered.

We went to the track this weekend to see what our best time would be and to test the rear end. We now know we have the rear end issue fixed.

I didn't run the street class because my car is tuned on C16. I don't want to run a long cruise on C16. That was also my choice.

I now know the 5th gen class was not the best choice. I made that choice (no one else's). I thought it would be best to run with cars that were in the same weight category as my car. The "big dogs" all weight more than 1000 lbs less than my car. But, my car was not built for bracket racing, it was built for heads up. So, we need to do that next time. However, the choices are rather limited for street-legal cars with big power.

Let me add though, at the LSX Shootout in Indy next month they run the 5th Gen class as well, but at the end of that, they do a heads-up of the 4 fastest 5th gens for the year end award of fastest 5th gen. So, we may do that, if possible. We haven't looked into the details yet.

Our best time was 8.7. It was terribly hot and the track wasn't exactly perfect (ask anyone with a big horsepower car who was there). But,we were happy with how the car did under those conditions. We lost a coil pack in the second round of the runoffs and were out of it at that point. But, other than that, the car worked great.

I'm only in this for the fun of it. I like to see my car go down the track and make the best times we can. Maybe it's a mistake in some people's minds to also keep the car as a street car. But, it's my car and I want it to be streetable.

Even though it was oppressively hot, I had a great time. The guys at IPS are awesome and they did a fantastic job. Bob Williams, who drives the car, and Patrick Barnhill, who tunes the car, were awesome. I am also grateful to Mark Carlyle who is more than generous to let us pit with him. I could not do any of this without his help. Thanks to all those guys for all their hard work and generosity.

PS: Broken parts are part of racing. We learned from each one and made the car better for it.

Excellent points. I couldn't agree more. Once the fun is gone there's no point in continuing.

Best of luck for the rest of the season!!
