Hurst Shifter

I almost ordered the Hurst shifter until I realized that, cosmetically, it might look different from the stock shifter. I like the leather ball, etc. I was more interested in the performance upgrade aspect of it.

Anybody know what the Hurst looks like?

If it looks considerably different, I'm sure the stock shifting characteristics will be just fine!

The Hurst will not come with a ball. You can use the stock leather ball with the hurst.

If we can keep the stock leather ball, then I will keep the shifter on my order. I liked the plain leather shifter in my T/A years ago...I had a b&m in that car but kept that same old stock knob....Hopefully this is true!

This is John Cox from GM Accessories and I wanted to confirm that you will keep the stock shift knob when you order a Hurst Shifter.

John, this is a threaded shifter that accepts most any threaded handle or ball, is that right? But it will be shipped with factory leather ball installed?

Good stuff. Short shifter with stock look. I hate the idea of a white ball shifter in what is otherwise a sleek looking interior.

Exclamation Question for FbodFather or CamaroScotty

Will the Hurst Short Throw Shifter come with a white, black, or leather wrapped ball? I know this might have been mentioned but i would rather hear it from one of these guys. Thanks

Looks like it's going to be white.

EDIT: Scratch that, see JohnnyCamaro's post above.

Do a search. I think John answered this at some point and he is about as official as it gets. Until you find it, it comes with the white hurst ball but you can install whatever knob you want.

EDIT:^^^^or that works too.

I'm pretty sure the question was answered in one of those Hurst threads. Think it was possible that we were going to keep the leather wrapped shifter. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's what Johnny said in our forum. Better yet....if we do a search.....

There ya have it.

And, with that, I'm going to merge the threads since this is a repeat topic of the previous Hurst shifter thread.

Thanks!!

Well, with the Hurst knob available with the stock leather wrapping, does this mean we can do visa-versa with a stock knob? Or, is it molded and constructed from the factory as one non-removable piece?
