Congrats on joining a forum just to bash on someone's thread. Also, if you go to your settings and increase the posts/page from default to the max of 40, you'll see it's only 8 pages.

Just a comment after reading all the posts, i apologize if I offended anyone. I'm just looking for mods for a newly acquired ZL1.
Thanks for the tip mclark10. Ron |

**UPDATE**
We received the parts we were waiting on Friday. Got a ZL1 into our hands Tuesday. Wednesday we test drove and data logged with both the stock unit and our CAI. The ZL1 is finally getting dyno tested this afternoon/evening with our CAI. We will run some pulls on the stock car as well obviously to get some comparisons. We did some driving and data logging yesterday and things looked really good. Trims were where they needed to be, and from what we could see and compare between the stock intake and our CAI, we should see some good gains on they Dyno tonight. As soon as the engineer has all the data for me and has had a chance to look at everything I will post an update to how it did. So I am hoping to have more information posted tomorrow, Monday at the latest! Given the assumption it's where it needs to be in terms of performance, we will provide everyone with all the info we can on it, and we will also have it available for viewing at the Camaro5 Fest next week. |

I'll laugh when all the people who are waiting see a price tag of a grand or more. I think one of the companies making the ZL1 kit is nuts with their price. the other is reasonable, but just about everything ZL1 related is overpriced. I don't think any cold air intake should cost over $500 even if its made of whale tusks.

For me it's a cost vs hp.. I would easily pay more than "$500" for an intake that guaranteed more hp than what's currently out there. not to mention the ease of installing an intake. Y not?

I was unexpectedly out of the office all day Friday and the engineer has been in & out of the office and busy all day today. As soon as we have time to sit and talk about it I will gather all the info and post something. I did get a text from them while they were on the Dyno and I was back at the office last week, and the numbers that they were saying were very good!!

ZL1 CAI NOW AVAILABLE!!!
**7-30-13 UPDATE**
The time has come to release some details of our new ZL1 system, enjoy: System Details: First off let me just say that this system has been completely re-designed from any other Camaro CAI we offer. Every component from the TB to the filter was engineered specifically for this vehicle, tested, and proven. The most important design feature of this system, and the piece that is where much of our time has been spent, is the billet MAF housing which is deigned not only as the transition piece from the coupler into the air filter, but also serves as a velocity stack to ensure that the airflow properties are exactly where they need to be to make power, reduce restriction, and stay within the vehicles fuel trim parameters so that a CEL is not thrown. This piece is nearly the size of a softball, and is cut from one solid piece of aluminum, and it allows the MAF sensor to be plugged right into it. The filter is the largest filter we could fit given the space inside the airbox and the angle at which the filter sits in the airbox cavity. Due to the insulated and sealed airbox, the thermal coated billet MAF housing/velocity stack, and the use of a silicone coupler coming off of the TB, heat soak is greatly reduced. Part# 501-1099-10-Z (Near Chrome Finish) Part# 501-1099-10-ZB (Textured Black Finish) Performance: Average HP gain over stock + 19 RWHP Average TQ gain over stock + 20 FT-LB TQ Max HP gain over stock + 19 RWHP Max TQ gain over stock + 21 FT-LB TQ ** These gains were on an otherwise stock ZL1, with the only change made being the CAI. There was no tuning done on this vehicle, and no CEL’s were thrown. Fuel trims looked very good and full pound of boost was gained. We actually seen some higher gains HP on a few pulls, some as high as 24 rwhp, but the 19 rwhp we are claiming should easily be seen should you choose to Dyno the car yourself after installing the CAI ** Dyno Sheet: Price: Due to posting rules we cannot list the price in a non-advertisement section of the forum, but product details, pricing, and ordering are all available at the following link: http://www.coldairinductions.com/store/cold-air-intakes/chevrolet/camaro/6-2l-zl1-supercharged/2013?___SID=U Available in our standard “Near Chrome” or “Textured Black” powder coated finishes. **We are looking into a carbon fiber option as well. The details for a Carbon Fiber finish are completely up in the air right now, I know it would add cost (speculating around $30-$50) and we don’t even know for sure if it’s going to be an option. Availability: ZL1 CAI’s are now available for purchase on our website!!! Shipping will be 6-8 weeks from time of order or from 8-1-13. **We are really pushing ourselves as well as suppliers to have this system available and ready to ship out in 6 weeks, but wanted to leave ourselves a little window for delays, hence the 8 weeks.** Pictures: **COMING SOON, hopefully as soon as we get back from the Fest** Special Note: **IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE CAMARO5 FEST THIS WEEK WE PLAN ON HAVING A ZL1 AT OUR BOOTH WITH OUR CAI INSTALLED FOR YOU TO CHECK OUT IN PERSON.** Last edited by Sales @ CAI Inc; 07-30-2013 at 12:16 PM. |
