i don't think many people have been driving manuals very long or just have no clue about cars and how they work or working on them

seriously have nobody skipped gears to save gas, you do not need all the gears all the time, as long as you aren't stalling the engine or riding the clutch your fine

and skipping gears does absolutely zero damage, it actually helps by causing less wear

Sorry, don't know how to quote. But I can't wrap my head around this skip shift. I have skipped gears before to save on gas, but the V8 camaro tells you to shift way too early from 1st to 4th. When I shift when I am "told" by the car, the RPM is barely at 1,000. Is something broken? I usually just step on it, or slow down to allow to shift into fourth, or second. Any advice?

Its a headache is what it is. It always makes me shift to 4th way too early making it go below 1000 rpms usually around 800 or less. Learning to get around it though ,it will go away after a couple of seconds thankfully.

Get a tune and you won't see it anymore. Even before I got a tune, the skip-shift only came on a few times for me. If you are granny driving in 1st gear, it will come on and forces you to shift to 4th. It is not a big deal as most people seem to think. You just gotta learn to drive your SS manual car so it doesn't come on.

True its only occasional but if it don't go away all i you gotta do is gun it and it disappears . If im not paying attention and it comes on i some times slip into 4th. Not gonna tune don't wanna void my warranty.

So get a skip-shift Eliminator and you don't need a tune.

I didnt mean I got a tune or anyone should get a tune just to get rid of the skip-shift. That's dumb. I was fine with the 1-4 display and it very rarely ever came on for me anyway. But a Magnuson 2300 sit atop my engine now, hence the tune.

I've been learning manual transmission on my car and this 1-4 shit screws me up so much. I was trying to figure out how to avoid this thing because it just randomly blocks me from shifting into 2nd. It's so stupid! If I'm accelerating lightly, why the hell would you put me in 4th? I can do it myself! Hill assist would make more sense than this. So I have to stomp the gas to avoid having 2nd gear disabled? It's so random too, I've been trying to figure out how to avoid it.

Skip shift eliminator was the first thing I added to my car when I got it. Well worth the $15, in my opinion.

Can anyone confirm if Europeans Camaros have this feature?

I own a 2014 European Camaro (2SS RS) and never saw this feature popping in...

Not that I know anything about European cars but did you purchase you're camaro new or used? If it's used there might be a chance the previous owner did the skip shift delete but then again I don't know about the European models...

If you haven't seen it, you don't have it, unless you use heavy throttle or higher than necessary rpm every time you shift. It's so annoying when I'm accelerating slowly in traffic, and the noise is painful if you actually believe it and let out the clutch with 4th gear at those speeds. Only tried that once, even 3rd gear is lugging at those speeds..
