Cadillac CTS with same engine
Has anyone else gone to a Cadillac dealership just to look and listen to the engine in the CTS? Obviously the drives would be different between the Camaro and the CTS, but I know I was planning on stopping by a dealership sometime just to check out the engine itself.

If they let me into the car....(being ~20, I'm not exactly the type that'd be buying a Caddy...) I'd love to test this thing out.

I would expect the Cadi exhaust to be a lot quieter than what you'll find under a V6 Camaro.

i actually think the handling will be very simmilar
i have been helping my parents shop for a new CTS and the ordering codes for the suspensions are the same. FE2 is the middle suspension package on the CTS and the Same code for the V6 camaro with the same engine, they are both built on the same chassis. FE3 is the code for the summer tire high performance suspension for the in the caddy and the SS camaro. i have driven the FE3 caddy and i loved it, i hope the camaro drives as well and i will be happy if it isnt even any better (handling wise) then the caddy |

Went to check out the CTS, but not for what was under the hood.

No they aren't.
Caddy = Sigma Camaro = Zeta I don't know the specifics, but besides being RWD, they have very little in common. Even so, the suspention codes are the same across the board, even for FWD cars. So the FE2 setup in the Caddy should reveal a little about how the Camaro rides. |

In the family of GM cars, I consider the CTS to be a 'cousin' to the Camaro. The G8 is a sibling. The 5th Gen Trans Am would be its still-born twin.
If the CTS has the same engine and same suspension and is of a similar weight, it should provide nearly the same driving experience

I would recommend a G8 Sedan with the standard V6. Same engine, same platform. Not as much horsepower though. 256 HP compared to the Camaro's 300.

I still say that the CTS DI and the G8 V6 should give an idea of the feel of the V6 Camaro. Its not going to be perfect because both cars are heavier and don't use the exact platform of the Camaro, but its as close as you can get till the real thing hits the streets.

Or a G6 GTP might be a good comparison for now.
