I can do you one better. One of my prior cars was a manual, and I hadn't driven auto in years. My mother lived in a high rise in Miami with valet required and included on site. She asked me to run an errand while I was visiting and to use her car for the trunkspace. It was an auto, a top of the line Acura in the late 80's.
As I pulled up, I pushed down where the clutch pedal should be, grabbed for a nonexistent handbrake, and opened the door to step out, leaving the car in drive. You should have seen me leap back into the car, now five feet away and moving quickly, to stop it from plowing into any of the high end vehicles waiting for the valet. Enjoy the new ride, Jason

I still haven't owned a manual, so when I finally get the Camaro of my dreams, it's going to be a manual, and I'm going to suck at driving it.

Reminds me of my first drive. Rowed through the gears and hit 125 before I realized it. I exited the highway and hit the red light. Of course, I thought I was a badass. Light turned green...... I stalled. Yep there went the badass feeling, replaced by embarrassment.

i was surprised how easily i manuvered thru a stick last May. i test drove a 10 SS with a stick. the last time i drove a stick was in 1998. my ex wifes escort. i couldnt believe how easy that car shifted and i had no issues at all on the test. i thought i would stall the car or jerk back and forth. that SS shifted 100 times easier than the Escort 5 speed ever did. its kind of like riding a bike i guess. i ended up with a new 2013 2 LT auto though as i still prefer the lazy way to drive. lol

Don't worry we've all done it. After being in an auto for a while last time i drove a stick i stalled it within 5 seconds

while stationed in Japan, those cars have the steering wheel on the wrong side and it isnt uncommon for "newbies" to the there to attempt to put the turn signal on and the washer go off.. trying to be a cool american doesnt always pay off.

Had an 82 280zx before my camaro. First manual car I had, a week into buying it i went into Walmart came out and thought my car was stolen, looked farther south and found that it had rolled to the middle of the parking lot luckily not hitting anyone/anything.

I still stall my car every once in a while because of how the clutch is. I don't drive it long enough to get used to it, I may get a kit someone posted about from RAM Clutches to adjust my pedal height.
