I have seen them cheaper at 289 a tire. This was about 4 months ago. There will be web specials to help bring down the cost.

Ouch! That's why I'm gonna have to spread the 1st tire purchase over a couple of months just to afford it. Buy the front one month, then pay off the CC. Buy the rear the next month and pay off the CC....whenever...

tire prices

they wont be expensive if you got the hook up. some people probably will get tires free but for me i got a friend who owns a shop and can give good prices i know we can knock about $30 off the prices on tirerack maybe alittle more not to sure but i know i can get some bomb ass prices from nitto. picked up some 17" 8.5 nitto neogen for $345.00 all around. and it only cost me $140 for a 4 wheel alignment 6 dissmounts and 6 mounts and balencing. not bad.

Yeah they will come down and more folks will offer other tires. I know the P-Zeros rock, but man that is expensive. Hope I can get 12000 miles out of a back set.

Note to self. LEAVE TRACTION CONTOL ON

If you are interested in "performance" tires for the back, Nitto makes the 555 for a 20" rim. 285's are $309 and 305's are $345 at Summit Racing. The 305's require a wider rim though.

With a tread wear of 220 on the Pirelli's, they won't last long..... For the driving most people do, the Yokohama's with tread wear of 320 will be more than sufficient, last longer, and cheaper !!

The only burnouts I'll be doing are the ones on the way to buy new tires. That will be a fun day, let me tell ya...

In Alabama I probably can. In NJ you have to pass inspection and they will ding you if your wear indicators are showing.

no doubt .... I am waiting for the following wheels and tire combos .. as I think they would look perfect on the camaro ..

275/40/20
315/35/20 <-- wonder if these would fit with the correct offset wheel?

or

265/40/20 <-- not sure if this size is even made .. but would help keep a good ratio
305/35/20

Quit your crying ... at least you guys have SOME choices.

There are NO 18" replacements for LS/LT listed on TR or DTD yet, and for the 19" size there is only ONE listed on TR (as of 3/29/09, last time I checked).

At this same time I checked the 20's and you guys have plenty of choices. Want something reasonably priced with a reasonable treadwear rating AND All Season ??

The Yokohama Parada Spec-X is a "V" Speed rated (149 MPH) Street/Sport Truck All-Season that has a high 420 treadwear rating with "A" Temp & Traction ratings.

275/40VR20 ... $144.00 Each
245/45VR20 ... $149.00 Each

Now if you think a Street/Sport Truck tire should not be put on a 2010 Camaro, maybe you should READ the specs on this tire on the Tire-Rack web site ...

"The PARADA Spec-X is Yokohama Tire's Street/Sport Truck All-Season radial developed for performance pickups and SUVs as well as modern muscle cars ..."

... only down side is it's speed rating is 6 MPH less than the built-in 155 MPH speed limiter. If you really think this is an issue for you, well then you better stay with the super-fast wearing $1,668.00 per set Pirelli PZero's ... your tire dealer will certainly appreciate your generosity !!
