New Michelins
Put new Michelin Super Sports on the 1LE yesterday. Only 6,000 miles on the Goodyear's but actually couldn't wait to get them off. Mine is a daily driver and the hard rains here in East Texas were troubling with the Goodyear's.
The new Michelins are great. Smoother, quieter, and "tracking" appears to be completely gone. I've eased the pedal to the floor in 1st, and no apparent traction problems. Haven't tried any hard launches or corning. So far, I love the new Michelins!

+1 on this. I drove the Goodyears until they they almost killed me. The move to Michelin PSS tires put a huge smile on my face and erased every grumble I had about my 1LE.
Great tires that seriously fit this awesome car. |

How are they for track days? Aren't the sidewalls soft?

I raced at the Texas Mile, and also practiced launching my car. So the rears at 6,000 miles were down to just 2/32's tread. Fronts weren't all that much better... so they weren't really worth selling when considering the cost of mounting and balancing
I replaced them with the stock size 285/35/20 Haven't tried the Michelins at the track yet, but I've read in quite a few posts they do very well. They are unquestionably better as a daily driver!

they get greasy after a few laps. The Good years seem to be about the same for the entire session IMO

Slippery, would almost feel like there's oil on the track.

Michelins SS are suitable for everyday driving but not for tracking ... Goodyears F1 is the way to go if you want the beast to stay on the track..... Got 5900 miles with 9 tracking days & 1 autocross with GY's G:2 & it's well worth it for the cost. Go Fast = $$$

Anyone tried the Michelins in the winter? Are they useable or do you still feel a pure winter tire is needed?
