No.. tone is just better, but thats all personal preference. Try to find a local camaro meet in your area and I can almost guarantee someone there will have borla and someone will have magnaflow. Both create a great product, but I do believe actual volume level will be louder with magnaflow.

Louder with the Magnaflow? Thats interesting. I always thought the Magnaflow was pretty quiet. Thanks for the insight!

Magnaflows (at least the ones I have seen on buddy's vehicles) have a straight pipe design. Borla still has the mufflers..again, I could be wrong. I have only had borla on my car.

I thought the magnaflow street was relatively quiet, whereas the comp was louder. If you check out their webpage it should guide you in the right direction.

Borla S axle backs

Is there any drone with just Borla-S axle backs, nothing else ? I want a nice sound but not drone on the highway.

I was sold on the S-Type paired with long tubes after listening to PQ's exhaust video... downright nasty, exactly the sound I was looking for.

I believe the Magnaflow system I referenced has dual mufflers like the S type.
I know they have a straightpipe system, and it sounds good, but I believe it has the 5" tips if I'm not mistaken and that just looks goofy as hell in my opinion.

I keep going back to Borla S-Type in my mind, but Im going to check out some exhausts in person before I buy, Magnaflow included.

Thanks!

I have a borla axle back for about a year now and it will not get much louder. I think the borla is more about a nice low rumble sound, more throaty than some others I have heard.

I have an L99 with Borla axle back and recently added a Halltech CAI and custom tune from JRE and the sound from those borla's are great now! The rumble is more like the roar of a hungry sasquatch about to pounce on something .......we have a really bad sasquatch problem here in DC by the way....
