Plus this GT500's 116.59 mph trap speed is still faster then the v's 116.23 mph
Are we talking cars are driving skill here? Either way the GT500 ran faster speed not quicker then this V and it gained more mph after the 1/8.

It seems like you jumped the gun, although I don't know much about drag racing.

The caddy LS motor and a 5.4l Condor motor run very close quarter mile times against each other and have similar stock HP. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Don't get me wrong, I love those V cars, but you had an aftermarket cai and a tune running up against a stock GT500, correct? You're not getting a bunch from the cai, but the tune is probably helping you out a bunch.
If the stang had a JLT Big Air and a tune, it would have been different. That's just my opinion. Nice racing though. |

Agree, not a 2014 or a 13 mustang

A little of both I went and looked around the interwebs for videos of actual runs at the strip and "other" places. Seemed very rare to see a V lose in either case stock v stock against 12 and earlier gt500. as far as the 13+, with 100 less hp and 200-300 lbs extra weight the V should be a pretty easy kill but its more of a drivers race which if the gt500 driver brings his A game should win.

Races between those two usually go down like this during magazine testing.

A 13/14 5.8 GT500 will walk a CTSV with a tune pretty easily, the Shelby in that video was a 10-11-12 with the 5.4

Wrong. It was a 2014. I think the 285 stock tires(on the GT500) may have helped me win. It was 3 weeks old and that was his first 1/4 mile pass in the car.

Watch the video again...the light was GREEN not RED...my Reaction time on the slip was .002.....so I was .003 from going red....I knew I had to push the tree to have a chance....and a .002 light is just "LUCKY"....but that's drag racing.

Here's another example from a year ago with my SRT-10 Ram....A guy from the LA Area was challenging my friend (who shot the video of my CTSV vs the GT500) who has a GT500 (2011) with his new Z06(LS7) with drag radials. The Z06 driver had a license plate that read "SN8K KLR". He wanted my friend's fender "cobras" if he won the race. My friend declined, so I said "why don't you run my truck, it's got a Viper engine, that's a snake" . He said the truck had no chance...it wasn't a fair race. I said you'd be surprised...and his friends said "Race the truck". They are the ones who shot the video below. Anyway he had a .728 RT to my .017 RT and he had a 12.59 ET @ 119+ to my truck's 11.67 @ 118, so I won by over 15 truck lengths.....but I know there will be guys who chime in and say a stock Z06 will run low 11's (which is true) but this guy didn't and neither did the GT500 guy against my CTS V. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TeC6B92...layer_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
