LS7 = roughly $13-14K, depending on source. Add "development co$t$", HD diff. from ZL1, ZL1 rear 305s, ZL1 6-pistons, and figure mid/upper $40s with some grippier seats. Don't forget a ramair and/or extractor hood. And Bob's your uncle! Last edited by SEVEN-OH JOE; 07-20-2012 at 10:14 AM. |

What if the car you mentioned was MSRP around $50K and then a gas guzzler tax on top of that. Would you still be interested?

I believe if GM stuffed an LS7 into a 5th gen, it would have more in common with the ZL1 than a 1SS that's why I said it couldn't be had for 45...ZL1(55k)-LSA+LS7=48/50k+GG

Don't forget the carbon insert, MRC and I'm sure there are other parts they could leave out.

Just a few Friday afternoon hypothetical questions;
IF GM offered an LS7 engine option to the 1LE package on an SS would that be acceptable? How about if they didn't use the Z28 moniker and simply called it 1LE LS7 or something like that? Would an MSRP for any Camaro/LS7 combo over $50k and a gas guzzler tax be acceptable? Would a 5th Gen Camaro Z28 be accepted if it wasn't LS7 powered?

My feeling is that a 1LE+LS7+ZL1 Brakes+Aero = Z28
I fully believe they would call it a Z28 I don't see it going over $50K I would accept a new DI V8 in a Z28 if it was above a base V8 |

Agreed. so let's have the finale 5th Gen with the previously reserved for 'Vette owners "forbidden" motor in a high rev, close ratio, steeper final drive gear track suspension Z28. We won't have to worry about p'ing off anyone then, will we?
