Smoking the tires....

Before ordering the car I have now (1SS M6 ). I drove a 2SS AT and the car with the automatic transmission seemed a lot faster on take off.

I have a friend with a SS M6 and he says he can smoke the tires from a rolling start easily. My car absolutely will not do this in any mode. I tried turning the traction control off and I can't smoke the tires from a rolling start.

Is my friend full of it? Can other SS M6 owners smoke the tires easily from a rolling start?

Is there something wrong with my car?

Nothing wrong with the car.

I've had both a A6 and a M6.

Smoked the tires in A6 with TC only off, caught me by surprise actually because I didn't think it would be able to do it.

Smoke the tires from a stop and rolling start in the M6.

You betcha I can light 'em up from a rolling start no problem. And they'll keep boiling into 2nd. Sometimes chirp into 3rd.

I couldn't do it when I first got the car, but now with 9200 km's on it she's broken in and fully of get up and go.

there was a burnout test, the 2010 camaro ss vs 2011 gt 5.0L vs challenger srt8....
the test was to see who can lay down the longest black lines ......
1. SS
2. SRT8
3. GT

the camaro is burnout king well... the manual of course

Fuse pull or battery disconnect? Are you sure everything is totally off?

Your firend is NOT full of it, there is nothing wrong with your car, I would suspect it's driver fault.

With 426hp, and a manual, its pretty hard NOT to smoke those tires. I had less than 200 miles on mine and couldnt resist, took it out on the highway, clicked off traction control, revved it up to 5g popped the clutch and it was still smoking into 3rd.

Tried it last weekend with my son in Comp Mode and still laid down a hell of a patch of rubber.

Took everything off and had no trouble laying rubber as long as my foot was down..

Honestly the biggest issue I have is being able to shift fast enough as those RPM's climb back up REAL fast!

I suspect your not being aggressive enough and afraid to nut er out!

From a roll like your saying... it would have to be a 1st gear say 30MPH roll in the M6 if the tires were COLD and with COLD pavement with a Stock Car and it should haze them.

Like I say thats a ROLL, of course you can burnout from a stop, but you said a roll

Its hard once the tires heat up and have good pavemant for traction on a stock car.
