It depends on how much you're willing to spend for a set of wheels.
What's your budget for a set of 4 wheels? |

CCW (Complete Custom Wheel) Daytona Beach, FL. If I could ever figure out how to post pics I'd post'em. For now, if you want to see the CCW SP16a (20x10 front 275/40 INVO and 20x11 rear 315/35 INVO) just shoot me an email john@strategicbenefitalliance.com. I am now running the car on road courses and am loving the set-up.

I stand behind CCWs for a quality, gorgeous light weight wheels.
Tell you a story.. I had a 02 Z06 (light car.. with very light wheels). I wanted to upgrade so I got some chrome 19 inch wheels all around. They were nice looking but i was more worried about price than anything else... I didn't pay attention to the weight but they felt MUCH heavier than the stock wheels. I didn't think that they were going to affect the way the car felt. but I was wrong... they car felt heavier and i felt the handling took a hit because of it. about a year later I saved enough and got a set of CCW 505 wheels 19 inch all around.... I could feel the difference and the car felt back to whats it was.. nimble and more stable in the corners. So, CCW is a good choice but there are other companies as well. Good luck with whatever you decide to get. |

The lightest wheels will be the 1-piece forged Monoblock construction sort. HRE, D2, ADV.1, Savini Mono, and a few others build these. It really just depends on your budget. The lightest I've seen in terms of bang for the buck are Forgestar F14 flow-formed 1-piece wheels though. These weighed exactly the same as the HRE 3-piece racing wheels in the same sizes. Not bad considering the $400/wheel price range.

Tony, does Iforged still make their "Race Series"? They might be an option for him for lightweight 20's. Killer profiles too!

CCW uses the same T6061 castings that HRE uses. The big difference is that you have to buy through a dealer network with HRE and you buy direct with CCW... no middlemen. I was quoted $1500 per wheel for HRE, CCW SP16a 20x10 and 20x11 with Nitto INVO 275/40 and 315/35 was $4,731.80 and that included the wheel sensors and a custom powder coat!
20x10 - $675 each 20x11 - $750 each INVO 275/40 - $222 each INVO 315/35 - $267 each Wheel Sensors - $50 each Powder Coat - $350 oh.... TAX :( - $288.80 Last edited by John M.; 08-22-2010 at 10:53 AM. Reason: forgot last piece |

If you don't have the money for more high end wheels, an option is the TSW Nurburgrings. They are forged and light weight. The main problem with the Nurburgrings is you can't run real wide tires because of the offsets.
I'm running 305/35/20 Nitto 555Rs with mine. I wouldn't try any wider tires than that. The advantage is they only weigh 23.5 lbs (20x9.0) and 24.5 lbs (20x10.0), and they cost $350.00 per wheel ($1400.00 for all 4) Here's a pic of my car with the TSW Nurburgrings running 305/35/20 Nitto 555Rs. |

If I had the money to blow on a set of wheels, I would get the TSW Nurburgrings. I really like the fact that they're lightweight and reasonably priced; and, I think they're some of the most attractive wheels available for the 5th Gen Camaro.
Just my opinion.
