Roll Cage Costs
I am getting ready to have a roll cage installed and want to be an educated consumer.....I am going to be looking for either 6 or 10 pt cage...most likely 10 if I want to be legal.
What should I expect for a cost...I know there will be variations...just a ballpark from those who have had one built. Thanks. Scotty's looks pretty badass. http://www.jwracing-fab.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=295

2 years ago my 6 point was $1950. Thats installed and painted. I thought it was a deal. I even tried to give JW more money. I think Scottywheels was close to 3k but he has a 10 point. My suggestion would be go with the 10. You can use smaller diameter tubing and it looks so much cleaner and it fits nicer. Mine, which I thought looked mint, pales in comparison to Scotty's 10 point. If you go with a 6 point you need the 1 3/4" and then when you need the 10 it'll be to bulky.

So tube size can go down based on the # of points?
Is there an easy to understand spec sheet for a roll cage that will pass NHRA tech?

Exactly!
From what I understand: 6 point needs to be 1 3/4" to be legal 10 point only has to be 1 1/2" (I think). Maybe 1 5/8 but Scotty's is tiny. You know you'll need a 10 point. Don't mess around with the 6. Learn from our mistakes and plan ahead. Do it once, do it right. |
