A good Sunday AM read
A pretty good article. After sitting in one I don't agree with his take on the interior, but all in all a good article.

Looking at history, the Camaro was the most popular (and was the most successful) when this country needed a hero and something to divert inner stress. With the current economic state of affairs and the mess in D.C., that time is now.
Overall, not a bad read. As you said, I don't agree with all the interior comments.

Nice write up. I appreciate when writers add a little personality to the story and don't just run through the numbers.
So far, this is the first review I read that seems to indicate that the SS has much better steering and handling than the V6 models. In fact, some other reviews gave the impression that the V6 had better balance. Interesting. Even more interesting is that this comes from the ultra-liberal NYT. I thought they wanted us all to drive Prii and never have any fun, ever.

Good review. As to the interior criticisms...it's hard to argue with some of them. Although i don't know how he's scraping his head in back seat, considering this car is three inches taller than the last. The height of the dash does worry me though, as it looks really high, and i havn't sat in one yet.

I'm about 5'6'' and I sat in one at the car show. I raised the seat and adjusted the steering wheel and it was great. I actually could adjust the seat high enough so my head touched. When I was in the car a gentleman got in the passengers seat. He was well over 6' and about 300lbs and he loved the way he fit.

My biggest gripe is going to be the seatback release...
My M3 seat would had a two part motion...when you used the seatback release...it would also move the entire seat up and forward...making it really quick and easy. The fact that we have to use the seat bottom position adjustment (wither electric or manual) just flat out stinks. And for us with the electric seat...it's likely to make it a painful evolution. |

I honestly can't take that guy's viewpoint of the interior too seriously.
After all, he probably hasn't been the same since his head went through the windshield. I'll bet he thinks Gerald Ford is still President! I have not sat in the Camaro yet, but I trust everyone on this site for their opinions and viewpoints. As a result, anyone who reads his article can quickly realize the true concept. That's what worries me. I have a feeling the seats were designed for overweight Americans who'd rather be in their old recliner rather than designed for keeping the driver in place when taking turns aggressively. Its the same problem the Corvette has.
