HELP WITH TACH INSTALL
I was told from PEPBOYS SPEED SHOP I can't install a TACH on a 2013 1SS LS3 Because of the wiring, is this true?

Um.... you already have a tach. It's right next to your speedometer.

So, the tach in the dashboard of your 2013 Camaro is not working? I would take it to the dealership.

crew dog it is already working on the dashboard of your car you do not need to figure how its working as if it was a 65 chevy. If it is not working you need to see a dealership, and if you really want it a hud can be installed that also shows your revs you just have to look for the info.

If the factory tach is not working it is covered under warranty, unless you did something to the car modding it to disable it.
The tach is controlled by the ECM, you cannot hook up a old fashioned tach any more. But you can get something that plugs into the diagnostic module to read out RPMs if you want a secondary gauge.

I wanted a secondary gauge and the one i had picked out was small and digital, why the bump for asking pepboys? Its a speedshop pepboys and the guy that works there is reputable.

I have a Bluetooth device called the BT1 and an app on my IPod touch called Dash Command that you can use for all kinds of gauges including the tach. It also reads codes and resets them.

Well that would make it work, but I'm unsure of the tach calibration procedure on a modern multi-coil vehicle. It certainly won't read correctly if it's some universal tach intended for older vehicles. I would call Auto Meter and ask them tomorrow. They are always willing to offer advice about what product you should buy and inform you of any extra items you may need to make it function on your specific vehicle.
