Any Techy people on here want to tell me what causes "corner flashes" in chrome?
I've been having this issue for as long as I can remember- possibly several years.
I've tried updating everything from flash to java to the browser, and nothing seems to solve it. This makes it very difficult to use the computer, as websites become unusable. The only thing that "fixes" it is a full restart of the computer. It happens most frequently in Google Maps for some reason, but as you can see in the video I uploaded, at times it happens on other sites (in this case tech crunch). When it happens to one site, it happens to most others. http://youtu.be/FC9rWUrH7m8 Any takers?

Been using Chrome every day for over a year. I have never seen that. I would be interested in learning more.

That looks like a video driver issue or video card issue to me. Try updating your video driver.

Does it do this with another browser? Do you play any games? What PC/laptop do you have? Have you cleaned the fans and the inside of the case if its a PC. Its a video issue and not chrome. Might be a drivers issue, over heating or damaged. Look up video card/GPU artificating

As 11BEE stated it's most likely your video card. The only thing you can really do about that is updating the driver for it. If that doesn't work, it's most likely a hardware issue.

Have you tried un-installing Chrome, restart computer & re-install? That would be my first recommendation. Almost looks to me like your LCD ribbon may be damaged. Does it happen when you are running any non-internet apps?

Don't think its related to the drivers as I've had the problem even as I've swapped out components. When I built my computer I put a 9600GT in there, but just about 9 months ago I upgraded to a GTX 550 Ti. Certainly not the best, but works fine for someone who does 0 gaming. Had to install new drivers.
Also put a new fan on my core i7 920 9 months ago also., have 3 screens and run 2 video cards, happens on all of them. Does not happen when I'm not in the browser. Even reinstalled windows and chrome from scratch 9 months ago because i updated to a SSD, but this issue was there before and after. Still no idea what "causes" it but it looks like a unique bug inside chrome, maybe something to do with my video cards and compatibility. I found a fix for it but I still don't know what the true "cause" is. Thanks everyone for their help. _-------------- Thank you to everyone who tried to help. Captain kirk PMed me this: "I'm not techie enough to know what any of this means..lol..but I can google darn near anything and 98% of the time find what helps out. Let's see how this works for you... http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=136334 Maybe you can find something in there that makes sense! Captn---" The solution wasn't directly on that page, but I was able to dig in further. Found the solution at: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/is...tail?id=135546 score! here's the fix: Did a little digging and Evidently there are secret options in the world of chrome at "chrome://flags/" (without "s). Type that in and it lets you make a whole much more tweaks. Here you can disable GPU Vsync. Disabling GPU Vsync solves the problem on my computer, as it did on a GREAT number of people who were testing it on that site. Thanks again everyone for their help, hopefully if this haunts someone else, they can solve it.

edit: Read the last post, and it was video related...just not the hardware.
