Z/28 Stripes?! We (don't/do) need stinkin' stripes!
If you believe the Z/28 needs stripes, what design?

We need to see better pics of the new 2014 SS stripes since the hoods are the same. I think those would do just fine.

I'd say rally stripes would be appropriate for the Z/28. Actually the Z/28 technically should be the only car that has the rally stripes factory installed. Back in the 67-69 era SS's had specific stripes (bumble bee/ hockey stripes, NOT rally stripes) and Z/28 was the only package that included rally stripes. You see rally stripes on everything now, but in reality they were part of the original Z/28 package.

If I'm not mistaken, hasn't the Z/28 always had stripes?

Stripes were standard on the first gen Z/28... but you used to be able to delete them for credit. I believe When the stripes went to a decal package in the 70s they were mandatory and could no longer be deleted. Another tidbit of trivia.. the '67 Camaro was the first car Chevrolet ever offered with painted-on stripe packages aside from factory pinstripes.

The Pace Car replicas were the only exception, and those were a unique orange stripe only available with the pace car package... besides the pace car you COULD NOT get the hood and deck stripes on a first gen SS Camaro. They were Z/28 only.

Well, if you want to get into the nitty gritty, the pace cars (in 69) actually were unique in that they had TWO stripe packages on the same car. The thin painted pinstripes over the wheel arches, and the hood and deck stripes. Pace cars weren't really "normal" SS's. and had their own details not shared with regular SS cars. Normally you could only have one stripe package on a Camaro, but the pace car got 2. The point I was/am making is that the hood/deck stripes were originally designed for the Z/28, not the SS.
