I think it deserves to be Z/28
The original Z/28 only had a 302 due to Trans Am racing regulations limiting cubic inches to 5 litre v8 or 305 c.i.. The Corvette GT2 factory car in ALMS last year had similar regulations limiting engine sizes even though it was based off the ZR1 Corvette and in GT1 it was allowed to run the 427 c.i. 7.2 litre v8. The 2nd gen Z/28 starting in 1970 was offered with the 350 LT1 and not the 302 like the 1st gen , the 4th gen Z/28 was offered with the 346 LS1, so it's not like the Z/28 has always had the 302 engine. The Z/28 can be any size but it must live up to the all track conquering car that history calls for. I will still buy it regardless of what it's called.

Why not wait and see what actually happens. They may still pull the rug out from under this supposed unicorn (mythical creature). Wouldn't be the first time.

I would like to see the Z/28 be the competitor of the Boss.
I leave it to GM to name the beast that competes with the GT500. Last edited by ShnOmac; 01-15-2011 at 12:26 AM. |

I heard they are going to call it the z/28
- They were only calling it the Hp Edition around GM to 'try' and advert suspicion of bringing back the z/28. which tho we all knew would happen. They try to keep secrets but do it poorly no?

misunderstood the poll... should have read closer... I meant to say that I would only buy this car if it was called the Z28... any model can be a HP edition or SS, but only a Camaro can be a Z28.

SS-HP
High Performance Edition will just be a option on the SS about $20,000-$25,000 with all the goodies you put on aftermarket now. Z-28 down the road a couple of years. |

I still don't get it. The Z28 was confirmed already. It's on our homepage for crying out loud. There is no mention that it would not be called the Z28. Who starts these stupid rumors. :bangdesk:

Ok, well then the MODS should take "Z28 Confirmed" off of the home page as this is not the case at all. Just sayin.

As Fbodfather said, no GM offical said it was a Z-28. It is all the fans that SPECULATE the car shown was a Z-28. Like others siad, the HP will be an add on option to your SS car. . .Vert or coupe.
