No, the harness that Ofer made has three plugs. One plug goes into the HUD unit, one into the control switch, and the third is a two sided plug and one side of the plug goes into the gauge pack and the other side plugs into the actual car. I probably explained this weird, but once it is in front of you, it is really self explanatory on where everything goes.

Finished up my install today! The only issue right now is I am getting a clicking sound in the shifter area when in park and I press the brake. Look at it after the football game.

Did it all myself and took my time (with a lot of notes) over two weekends. What is weird is my wife didn't ask one time what I was doing or why the 90% of the interior was on the garage floor and shelves. I am thinking I may find she makes a large purchase on my credit card soon - way too much silence! .

Bumping this to ask a question. Anyone here swapped out their windshield for a HUD windshield? And if so, was it worth it? Mine is starting to looking like Swiss Cheese so I'm considering putting in new glass - and the HUD glass is almost $300 more.

Why don't you get it replaced through your insurance?

That's crazy it's that much more, when I had min replaced they said they cost the same. It was nearly $600 for both. But cost me $100 for the deductible.

I told her I don't have the HUD yet but I plan to install it, she said they can't replace it with a HUD windshield unless it's installed already.

This would be only the second windshield I've ever had replaced in my 35+ years of driving so I've never opted for the glass replacement rider - so it's covered under my 1k deductible. Therefore I'll pay out-of-pocket on this one. Did a local quote and the non-HUD is about $350 and the HUD is about $600.

Not a huge hurry - just playing w/ the idea right now & wondering if the HUD glass made the 'wow' difference for someone who did Ofer's HUD isntall.

I was one of the first persons (actually the second person on the West Coast) to install a HUD unit in their car. So far I have my original windshield, now when it comes time to have to replace my windshield I will upgrade to the HUD windshield.

Oh gotcha, weird glass is included in our comprehensive and comp. is required, collision only when there is a lein holder.

I wish I went through that few windshields. Seriously 2-3 per vehicle, and everyone I know goes through at lest 1 a year here... Some last longer only because they don't replace them right away LOL

Interesting to hear the non hud is cheaper the shop I went to said there was only one supplier, so it looks like there are more now.

Looks like this mod At this time can not be done on 2013 cars, same as the 4 pack gauges.

Looks like the 2013 car at this time you can not add HUD to them as there is now wires to make it a plug and play harness, and i do not believe there is a program in the BCM
