Just another hopefully helpful tip for those that are going to attempt the DIY kit: I beat my head against a wall for many years trying to solder things with a cheap soldering iron setup (harbor freight, random pieces of crap from other places)... I couldn't figure out why I could never solder worth a crap, if at all, on simple DIY projects like this... Before taking on a Megasquirt DIY kit, I did some research on soldering stations/equipment. I ended up picking up a used Weller WTCPT soldering station for about $60 bucks off ebay, and I find I get the best results with little to no F-Bombs using a 700 deg. 1/32" screwdriver tip for it. I basically went from zero to hero, just from spending a little bit of money on some "decent" equipment and doing nothing else.

I can see I will have to get the assembled kit. I have essential hand tremors and that shaking will make it impossible to solder this thing together. Sucks getting old.

Just a bump for this cool DIY to say that it will also work on 2014 non-RS cars.

I could never get it to work. I'm not saying it won't work for others, but I tried 3 time to even get one side to work, but it failed every time. Maybe I got bad parts, who knows. I finally just said screw it. Maybe I'll buy a set if someone produces a variable speed type set. :-/
