I know another Cam question

I am debating two cams the Brian Tooley stage 1 or 2.
My mods are as follows:
Kooks long tubes, no cats
Rotofab CAI
ID850s
ATI Lower with 18% pulley

Just curious what the performance gain would be between the two cams?
Really do not want alott of Lope from a Cam. Also do not want a cam that is hard on the valve train and has a really hard ramp rate. Looking for long term durability. Just seeking info on these two cams?

Thanks,
Rob

Get the milder cam, gains with out ported heads will be similar and if you want a milder idle then there's your answer.

BTR stage 2 is a great cam for mild lope and big power!

I just did the stage 1. Along with a 9.55 lower. Omg does it run. I too didnt want something that would beat the crap out of the valve train. I also did the CHE modified rockers for bulletproofness. The cam is not too lopey. But there is enough to tell its cammed. It's just right. Makes roughly the same power as the 2

Skip the 1 and 2 and go to the stage 3. It is also ground on the LSL and XER lobe profiles like the 1 and 2, and is just as easy on the valvetrain. And makes big power. It has a noticeable lope but still mild because of the 0 deg overlap. Call Brian Tooley and discuss with him. He has told me he rarely sells the 1 and 2 anymore and everyone usually goes with the 3. And get all the springs and matching parts from him also and you will be trouble free.

I know the Stage 3 is a nice cam but for me the Lope will be undesireable. This will be my wife's daily driver and I have to careful. I am just trying to decide between the stage 1 and 2.... If there is not a huge power loss between the two the stage 1 will probably be my choice. Just curious what else is people doing to increase valve train durability?

If you dont like the lope of the 3. You probably wont like the 1 or 2. A guy in our club had the 3. Compared to mine, there's not that much difference in the lope. If that's your determining factor then you should go with a custom grind and let them know you don't want lopey. Rather than just buying one off the shelf. There are certain tradeoffs for power. All depends on what you're going to do with the car i guess. If you're happy with the current power and performance, leave the cam alone.

And built on LSK lobes and very tough on the valvetrain.

I have heard a lot of good things about that cam. Read a lot too. That maybe be my choice in the future.
