Flaky blower motor on 2014 2SS convert

Hi - the fan for the AC/heater is has been acting weird for a couple of years but is getting worse and it's time to try to do something about it. The last two springs, after being stored all winter, the fan only operated full-blast, or off, regardless of the setting which I could see on the display ranging from 1-12. It did this for only a couple of minutes the first few times I started it and was normal otherwise for the whole season. Now when I turn the fan on nothing happens for several minutes, and then it eventually starts to work. The heat or A/C is on because the indicator lights are on and I can feel the cold or warm air but the fan is just not blowing. Once it decides to turn on, all the speeds work however, so it is not like the case after the winter where it was only working on high. Once it turns on, it stays on for the rest of the trip.

Have others had this problem? Any thoughts or suggestions on how to address it?

Thanks,
-Scott

Would the blower motor resistor cause this flakey intermittent behavior? Once it decides to start working, it works at all speeds and will keep working until I shut to car off. Lately it is just taking 5-10 minutes before it decides to start working.

Blower motor resistor for sure. Had this problem on another GM product, made in 2016.

It's quick and inexpensive repair.

Okay, fair enough, thanks. I'll start by replacing the blower motor resistor.

Is it okay to pick up from a local parts store or Amazon? Or should I go OEM for this part?

AutoZone has it in stock for $38.99.

Thanks,
-Scott
