That converter should wake it up quite a bit. I did the Circld D 5C 4200-4500 and and boy what a difference than the little 3200 I had. It just wouldn't get it up to where I needed to be in my power band, but the 4200 sure does!! lol.

If you go catless with an off road mid section, sometimes, depends how the wind is blowing, and it is only when sitting at a stop ideling. It is from the big overlap of most big cams you get unburnt fuel vapors in the exhaust. "Old school" smells.. lol.

I need to check my car out it seems to be pretty bad, worse than some of my friends cars with more power.

I'm running TSP high flow cats and hardly have any odor at all. But my son's c5 is cat less and wow you can really smell that thing. We were at the dyno tune the other day and when we got home boy you could really smell it on your cloths.

I also remember Bo White saying go with a higher stall than you think you need. |

From what I have read on here, a 3200 is a good stall for a STOCK Camaro for a good kick in the butt. And depending on your cam setup and power level and where she starts pulling hard and where your power band is and pulls out to, you need a bit higher stall. And the experience I had for 2 years driving mine with the 3200, it just wasn't enough converter for my setup. I went bigger on the reccomendation from a couple guys here, mainly Bo who suggested I run a higher stall, around 4000 or bigger, so I went with the 4200-4500 Circle D 5 C, and like I said, it made a great difference in the cars performance. Granted I have the LOD manifold on there and it moved the power band more to the right than a stock or rod modded manifold, and now I can pull it out to 7500 If I want to where it was still making power, but no need to. Even when I had the stock manifold on there, the 3200 wasn't enough. So it's all in what your engines needs are and where it starts making good power. And as for the daily driveability, my stall is no different than a stock stall, if it is tuned correctly. They only way you know it isn't stock is when you accelerate and it revs up a bit as it moves off. Now at WOT, that's a different story. lol. The other thing I just thought about too, is if you are going FI'd or staying NA'd. I think I read on here that they both would need different converters to properly get the power application correct.

Isn't our stock one like 1800? I'm sorta nervous about the drivability of a bigger stall, but I'm definitely getting that circle d.

Dude, I'm running stock cam with 3.91s and a 3200 converter and it's AWESOME!!! Only hard part is traction if I hammer it from a stop, but I daily this setup in rain, sleet, snow, sun and I've never regretted it! If anything, I kinda want to jump up to a 3600...

Yep, stock is about 1800. Like I said, I was also concerned about the driveability when I went to the bigger stall, that's why I asked the pros here, but if it is tuned correctly it drives just fine with NO issues at all driving everyday, I do mine and it is smooth and all. Just make sure you have a good trans cooler for sure as it will get warm in traffic. Also my tuner has mine set to what he said is "manual auto lock", so that anytime I put it in manual mode and use the tapshift it will automatically lock my converter in whatever gear I am in so in traffic it doesn't get hot, plus if I run her hard I can lock it in whatever gear I want manually at speed and cool it back down quickly. Just don't goo too small because you just might not like how it operates or acts, that's why I went bigger. Good luck with your choice..

I don't know if it's true or not but I read somewhere that if you are going to autocross or road race then you don't want a big stall because you want it to still pull hard in the corners. Is that true?

I can't enlighten on that one because I'm a straight line guy, but I would think you might need a little above stock just so getting off the corners you can get the revs up some so you don't bog down getting back into the throttle. You might want to ask this in the road course/autocross section because I'm not too sure. I don't have any Camaro friends who autocross here.
