Sorta pissed... Freakin spolier chipping the trunk lid AGAIN - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So, back in november i had that infamous spoiler paint chip issue.. well had it fixed. Took a look again at that area this morning like i do every few weeks and its FREAKIN Chipping again. took it over to the dealer during lunch time and the body shop stated that they have to contact GM since they wont pay for them to fix again

.

But i guess the silver lineing in this is that i was the first person in there with the issue back in november and they have had 2 other people. But im the first one with the issue happing twice. The body shop manager stated that he will call me tuesday but we will see.....

Did they use the new gasket kit when they reinstalled the spoiler?

Cool, I just got my strips painted and he could fix that issue pretty cheap I am sure, he is in Spring valley..

Are they tightening the nuts too much and smashing the new gasket to the point where the spoiler is rubbing again?

Thats what im thinking they did... but we will see (cant fit a buisness card between the trunk lid and spoiler)

I am guessing they didnt use the right ones. After i read this thread i checked mine as I had the same issue. It looks fine no chipping at all. And really no way it could with how much space is there now. So be sure they used the GM kit.

My spoiler has came loose twice now! I've had many problems with my car, but that's what you get when you buy the car the first day its available.
