Yup - that's a Mustang Fanboy trying to stir up the pot.

Unfortunately, it is working. Again.

This may have been said here already, BUT this ZL1 is a brick on top...It's nice that it runs 11's but it has no MPH...A freaking V6 runs 100 and this thing runs only 117...A stock Corvette with a tune will hand it it's ass on the freeways here in socal...Not impressed with all that HP and NO MPH...IT WILL GET SMOKED on the highways on top around here...Flame on, but this car will lose to quite a few carsand certainly the Fords.

Guess it ain't stock if it has a tune ... The car weighs 4200 Lbs what do you expect ... Not too many cars will go 180 straight off the showroom floor ... Most have a speed limiter set on them

Ok, the "7:41" may not have been disproven yet but with heatsoak issues like LPE just had going 200mph, how much heat soak was going on after five minutes of hard driving in Germany? Most people can put 2 and 2 together.

The lingenfelter car is not stock so the facotry heat exchanger and coolant capacity are not keeping up.

people do realize as you modify from factory you will need to upgrade other things.

If you go from 8lbs of boost to 12lbs of boost those components will need to be beefed up to disapate the heat.

this is no different from any other manufacturer.

I agree. Looks like LPE only offers a 160 Tstat on their kit as of now.

So what are the chances that on a 7:41 minute run that a stock camaro will pull timing? I'd say pretty high..

What are the chances that a 400 RWHP, 4200 lb car runs 7:41? I'd say pretty low..

I believe there was video of the 7:41. Not sure what's to disbelieve about that. Then again, people didn't believe in the moon landings either.

absolutely no truth to this at all. GM brass called out Ford. Ford said NOTHING about the LS1 until it was directly challenged. Ford was comparing the 2013 GT 500 to ITS OWN models. Said all along that the reason the bump in power for the GT 500 was because the 5.0 and BOSS had closed the gap. That is well documented. Now whether that is actually true or not is open to debate. Point is though they took the HIGH ROAD and kept it internally - until they were called out. Then it was on and anything goes. Chevy made this an "US vs THEM" thing becuse they thought they had a player, or rather a "GT 500 Killer." We shall see if they can play soon enough.

As far as ring times, I don't really believe any of them. It's a marketing tool. As far as GM posting an 11.93 in the 1/4mile, they may have one of those "special" cars if you know what I mean ,but really so could Ford with GT500. That's why none of this matters until real people start running the two of them side by side ,on the same day, at the same track. And you know what, that doesn't even matter. I may beat a ZL1 with my GT500 one week and get my ass handed to me the next week by a different ZL1. I'm only worrying about the one I have and what it will do not only against other ZL1s but also other GT500s or any other car I line up against for that matter.

Point is, get off the computer, quit bench racing and go have fun with whatever ride you have. You just might have the fastest whatever at your track or in your town.
