2010 Buying & Driving from Michigan to Florida

Hey all,
I’m in the process of buying a 2010 SS M6 with 30k miles, flying up to Michigan and driving it home to Jacksonville, FL.
I’m buying sight unseen obviously other than pictures and convos with the current owner.
He’s only had it a couple of months but the prior owner before him did all of his own maintenance, and the oil was recently changed, but have no other info regarding coolant, rear diff, etc.
Based on what you know (and me) would be alright to make the 1000 mile drive?
Is there anything I should look for or ask before making the flight arrangements?

I’ve never owned a Camaro, but a couple Corvettes & older Mustangs. I’m finicky about maintenance needless to say.

Thank you for any/all advice!

Check the fluids, tire pressure, and treads before driving. When you get home you can change the fluids.

Do yourself a favor....get the vin number and have a car fax run before you buy it. At least you'll have some sort of history instead of he said she said.

Curious where in Michigan? Wondering if it is someone I know from our club and can tell you what I know of it.

Up in Waterford, but he’s only owned it a month or two. It’s imperial blue.

Vin is clean.

I’m buying it at $19,500 so not sure quite what to expect.

Thanks. Yes when I get home I’m flushing everything for my own piece of mind. I just want to make sure I shouldn’t have any problems and maybe items to look for before making the drive.

The owner now is selling it because he was notified his ZO6 is arriving sooner than expected. 1st world problems

Oh, tires are original on the car, he said tread is good but due to age will need replacing.

I sold my 2010 2LT late 2014 and just a few weeks ago picked up an '11 2SS convertible w/ 4.7k miles from Cleveland and drove it back to Kansas City, so I'm back in the forum. About 750 miles - and I had no problems. From leaving for the airport to being back home was ~18 hours. Well worth the trip. Have a good time!

Glad you were successful and had a good time! If I fly up then I’m hoping for a fun ride home. I’m also on Uship and looking at shippers, if I can get it done for $850 ish then it’s worth it to just ship it, and not worrying about the headache of driving and concern for problems.

Hopefully it's never seen a Michigan road in the winter, it doesn't take long for cars to be destroyed up here. I will not buy any vehicle from Michigan. My SS is from SC, my Formula from NC, my Silverado from Indiana ( they don't use salt there, from my understanding, someone correct me if I'm wrong ), and my Golf from Virginia.

No, it’s been garage kept during winter during winters and from what the owner is saying absolutely no rust. Only driven on nice winter/salt free days.

I’d be more concerned as to why it’s for sale

Owner said he bought it as an interim car while his new ZO6 is on order.
ZO6 is in so he’s selling this.
