It also requires you to look at your car sitting on jackstands until finished! I have had three sets of drilled rotors from three different companies on different vehicles and only one developed a small crack at one hole only. It was strange to find one. The rest have been flawless.
Honestly, I am against any machining after the fact by a company that did not manufactuer them. The aftermarket is kind of riddled with companies that buy cheap Chinese centric rotors, then cut fancy holes and slots in them, and sell them as their own brand. I have seen cases where they drill right through the part of the casting that holds both sides togethor, which leads to cracks.

I won't be running any hard road course, I'm more of a visual type and I was getting so pissed at all the brake dust! Having to clean the wheels after every time I drove the car. I think the rooters just add another little touch to make my car different from the rest.

A few more mods if I can find the right things, looking at a complete exhaust system with headers and the A pillar gauge set.

Luckily with the ZL1, all you need is ceramic pads, and with the stock rotors, brake dust goes way down.

UPS truck made a stop last night! Received lower door kick plates, they are bullet looking with carbon fiber inserts, front lower splitter protection strips, polished cup holder plate. I will get the parts installed later today and take some pics. If the weather cooperates after the snow tomorrow, I'm planning on getting the XPel clear bra installed this Friday. Temperatures are supposed to turn into the 40-50 range throughout the wee. Maybe spring will finally arrive!

Looking good. I ordered mats, center console, valve stem covers, license plate frame. I think I'm done. Going to remove the "camaro" script next. Maybe do a black Chevrolet emblem....the gold just doesn't look right on Blue Ray Metallic.

Parts installed

Picked up my car poster showing all the options with a nice picture, it came out really nice. Also got the parts installed I received last night. It has started to snow again, will it ever end?

Car poster

Had the car poster redone to correct the spelling of my wife's name. That had to be a must!

XPel clear bra being installed right now. I will pick it up tonight after work and let you all know how it turned out. It's funny that the car is a instant magnet with all the people in the shop with I drove in, everyone stopping what they were doing and came over to look at everything. They all loved the look of the engine and the sound of the blower whine!

XPel Install

Just picked up my car from Willis and man they did a really good job with the XPel install. I would highly recommend them for your cars! The Xpel looks, or should I say you can't see it, that's the best part of all. This stuff is pretty thick and has some self healing properties with a heat gun or the sun. Talk to Walker Robinette, he's your man.

Tire rotation wrong!

When I picked up my car the other day, the tech pointed out to me that my tires are installed backwards (directional rotation). You would think a Chevy mechanic that swapped out my rotors and pads would know how to put the tires back on the car the correct way! We haven't had the weather to drive the car so I haven't driven it all, except to get the clear bra installed the other day. I'm sure I would of caught this when detailing the wheels. I have an appointment tomorrow to get the tires swapped around. The weather is going to be really nice for a change!

Received my ZL1 certificate yesterday on the mail. I will have to get this framed just like the sticker for my car.

Happened to me as well. I had left the car at the dealer for them to paint the ZL1 and the bow ties on the wheels. When I picked up teh car, i noticed that the tires had been marked LF, RF, etc and didn't think anything of it.

I'm sitting at a car show th enext day enjoying the warm sun when a kid comes up to me and told me the wheels were on wrong. I just kind of blew him off, thinking it can't be, the dealer is the only one that had them off, etc.

When I got home I looked, and by george the kid was right. The arows were pointing in the wrong direction.

Even the dealer was puxxled when they saw it that following Monday, and I told hime what I thought might have happened.

What side of the car is the left side.?
If your sitting in the car, then the drivers side is the left side.
If you're standing in front of the car looking at it, the passenger side is on your left.
I figured that the person that took them off, marked them one way, and the person that put them back on looked at the car the opposite way.

Sure enough, the service manager got curious, asked his guys, and sure enough that's what happened. It was one of the new young guys that marked them wrong.

Innocent mistake. Oooops.
