do you think once this is developed, we could make everywhere a drive-in movie? (not trolling) that'd be cool

What kind of software would you use to recognize things in front of you? You would have to have some sort of video camera and some sort of object/shape processing information almost makes me think there would be a slight delay between what comes up on the monitor(window) and what is actually going on in front of you in real time. Might be a bit distracting... but what do I know? haha.

too bad they stopped making these, sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for as far as displaying car info.
http://magden-auto.com/ Although there is still this one http://www.hksusa.com/info/?id=3474

Like Iron Man II ? hahah. I really like the idea though, mounting the projector in a manner that is not completely obstructive, and finding the right software would be the hardest part. I suppose if you could find a cable to jack directly into your laptop/iphone from the car ... you could just run an hdmi to the projector and run it all off that.

What I would do .
Get a small laptop . Get a small projector Mount the projector on the roof . Or inside the dash . Put the laptop under my driver seat just to take it our for mobility . Wire a hdmi cable through the headliner . Bam!? You have a pc on your dash. Then I would tether using my iPhone for Internet access. And I would use a app on my iPhone called mobile mouse to control the laptop ( it's a keyboard , trackpad app). And then you have a computer to run this program

The HKS CAMP2 has an AV output. Plug that into the projetor and your done. No need for laptops and all that other stuff.
This is an amazing idea. You just got that projector from best buy? Pics as soon as this is working!!!!!! |

Look into the OBD II Cable and the Dash Command App in the App Store if you have an iPhone or iPad.
