Centri and BoostControl
I would like to control boost on my YSI setup. I'm looking to go from 10-15-20psi or something like that.
What's the best way to get this done? What control and what all would be required to get this done? If it could be broken down to how it would work it would be nice |

A few years ago, in the Mustang community, a well known company developed a way to control boost on a centrifugal system much like is done with a turbo. I think you could only adjust it within a range tho. I'll try to find the article. It was kinda expensive so it might not be worth it.

Can't you just plumb in a wastegate? Except it would be dumping air from the blower. This is something I wanted to do years ago but never did it. Would be nice to see what people have done.

It can work. A bit tricky to setup and get stable, got to play with gate size/placement/spring but you can do it. You can turn boost down, not up so you pulley for max boost or max blower speed then can use wastegate to bleed off extra boost. Downside is IATs are hotter because spinning blower harder, harder on belts, harder on the blower.

You will need to change the pulley size, each step down is usually 1 psi increase.
Mustangs are limited to about 10 psi stock so a company uses 3.33" pulley with a Tial wastegate to increase boost lower but still keep the boost in limits. They gain like 77 ft-lbs of torque doing that. |

I already have the blower at max speed and have a general idea of how it works. I'm looking more into the hardware side. What control and wastegate to use and like unreal said placement and spring size.
I know it could be done I've read the articles and I've seen some guys on here post about it. maybe they'll chime in with their experience with the setup |

That's what I to with my f1x.
My blower is pulleys are for around 27psi. Bit the blower only puts out 16psi thru the CBI plate system on the car. If I want more or less boost I just switch plates. Takes about 5 seconds. No messing with pullies or belts or anything else.

Just search, hundreds if not thousands of people have done it already
Search Tech, Bullet etc You can use a w/g or suitable BOV, then some decent electronic boost controller to make it work for you. |
